Tell us a bit about yourself and why you chose RisingOaks Early Learning for your family’s child care needs?
My wife Lisa and I were very impressed by the reviews for RisingOaks Early Learning when looking for child care. The quality of care has exceeded even those initial high expectations.

Directors, and parents who have a child in care for whom monthly fees are paid to RisingOaks Early Learning are eligible to become members of the organization. What does it mean to be a member?
Becoming a member is very similar to becoming a part-time 'owner' at RisingOaks. You get a vote in the organization that provides care for your child.

How has being a Director on the Board benefited you personally and professionally?
Personally it is rewarding to give back by volunteering my time. Professionally it is an opportunity to apply the Strategic and Leadership aspects of my CPA education in a real world setting. Giving me experiences to complement my overall professional development.

Share a fond memory from your childhood that has stayed with you over the years? How has this and other similar moments influenced your parenting style?
One childhood memory that always stuck with me is interacting with my grandmother. She was always calm and spoke to me as another adult. It is that patience and working to understand their perspective which I try to emulate as a parent.

How do you find work-life balance and still meet your commitment to RisingOaks' Board?
Time commitment with the Board is well laid out in advance and peaks at specific times which can be planned around. For me, having the support of my wife Lisa enables me to dedicate time for the Board. My time with the Board is a team effort.
