As we start our school year JKK Before and After school, educator Jess C wanted to create an interactive activity for the first week of school. As the children all love playing and interacting with playdough. Jess C created an interactive poem.
Magic RisingOaks Playdough
Magic Playdough.
Oh; so white, I wish this wish with all my might!
If a colour does appear. We’re sure to have an amazing before and after school year!!
As the children waited patently as we handed out the white playdough balls as they held them in their hands waiting for the instructions to mix it. As we started to mix you start to hear, “I got
blue!” “I got orange!” “I got yellow!” Moment later Aurora says “it’s RisingOaks’ colours!”
As the children finished making their playdough balls, they were excited to start playing. Aaron asked if they would be able to mix the playdough colours. As a class, we discussed the importance of not mixing it all at once. We agreed that everyone should have a chance to participate in mixing the colours, ensuring all classmates had the opportunity to be involved.
I wonder what we can plan together moving forward so that everyone in our class has the opportunity to take part in fun and interactive activities. As we continue our class discussions, we can explore more sensory activities that help foster our listening skills and encourage patience while waiting for our turn.
