Since June brought warmer weather, we planned a fun Water Play activity for our School Age 2 children. After returning from school, we filled a sensory bin with water and added reusable water balloons to enhance the experience. We also attached a sprinkler to the end of a hose, creating an exciting opportunity for the children to run through and cool off.
The children thoroughly enjoyed chasing one another with water balloons, splashing water, and playing in the sprinkler. They laughed, danced to music, and spent quality time with their friends outdoors. The activity encouraged active play as the children ran, jumped, and explored the playground environment.
Throughout the experience, the children practiced important social skills such as sharing materials, taking turns, and cooperating with peers during various water games. Water play also supported sensory exploration as they poured, splashed, and interacted with water in different ways. The children demonstrated creativity by inventing their own games and discovering new ways to use the water balloons and sprinkler.
Overall, this engaging and refreshing summer activity promoted social interaction, physical development, sensory learning, and joyful outdoor experiences.
