This month, the toddlers explored a beautiful spring garden sensory activity in the tuff tray. The tray was set up with artificial grass, colourful artificial flowers, and flower pots to create a hands-on gardening experience. The children were invited to use spray bottles filled with water to “water” the flowers and grass.
The children eagerly participated in the activity and showed excitement as they explored the materials. As the spray bottle handle was pressed, water sprinkled onto the flowers and grass, creating a fun sensory experience. Millie watched the water and said with the biggest smile, “Water coming out!” Blair shared, “I am watering the flowers,” while spraying the flowers and grass. The children practiced taking turns with the spray bottles and waited patiently for their peers, demonstrating growing social skills and cooperation.
Some children explored the activity by transferring flowers into the pots. Matteo said, “I am putting flowers in the pot,” as he moved the flowers using his hands. This supported hand-eye coordination and fine motor development.
Throughout the activity, the children used their senses to discover different textures and colours. Some children touched the grass and flowers, while others noticed the bright colours around the tray.
