Program Name: School-age 3

April has been a wonderful month filled with fresh air, muddy boots, and joyful giggles as we embraced the warmer weather and the magic of spring through outdoor play!

This month, the children in school-age 3 spent ample time exploring nature in our outdoor learning spaces. From digging in the sand to building imaginary worlds with sticks and stones, their creativity soared as they connected with the environment. We observed budding flowers, watched worms wriggle in the soil, and even made a cozy "bug hotel" using natural materials. These hands-on experiences encouraged curiosity and conversation, helping children develop their language, science, and social-emotional skills.

Group games like “What Time Is It, Mr. Wolf?” and “Follow the Leader” kept everyone moving and laughing, while quieter moments allowed for independent play and reflection.

Outdoor play is essential. It promotes physical health, supports mental well-being, and encourages children to take risks in a safe, supervised environment. It also fosters independence, problem-solving, and resilience, all critical life skills. Being in nature invites children to be present, observant, and connected to the world around them. These moments of discovery and movement support learning in every area of development.

Outdoor play is more than fun, it’s a powerful way to learn! Thank you for sending your children dressed for the weather and ready to explore. We’re so proud of their growth and can’t wait to see what May brings!
