What sound does a sheep make? How many animals live on the farm? Why do pigs like to bathe in mud? Our little ones were very interested in learning about different farm animals.
The children were interested in the names of the animals and the sounds they make. The children were curious when observing the animals in their habitat on the farm. The Infant program decided to create a little farm with lots of mud and lots of water (because our friends really like messy play).
After learning a little more about the farm animals, we decided to transport ourselves to the countryside and play on our own farm. The children pretended that the animals were playing in the mud, the they gave them a bath with clean water and soap and then fed them. The children shared their thoughts and ideas with each other. Every time they picked up a toy animal, they made the sound they thought that animal made, they asked their educators for the name of the animal and repeated it. The most fun was the messy play with water and mud!
We wonder what animals we will explore with next…
