Fall Exploration

  • Program Name: School-age 1

As the fall season arrived, the children participated in a creative leaf-painting activity inspired by the changing colours of autumn. They explored a variety of paint colours, including red, orange, yellow, and brown, reflecting the beautiful colours of the season.

The children observed the different shapes, sizes, and patterns of the leaves before dipping them into paint and pressing them onto paper to create unique leaf prints. They experimented with different colours and techniques, allowing each child to create their own individual piece of artwork.

Throughout the activity, the children practiced their fine motor skills by gripping leaves, using paintbrushes, and pressing leaves onto paper. They also explored colour recognition, patterns, and the shapes of natural materials. As they worked alongside their peers, the children shared materials, exchanged ideas, and communicated their observations about the changes they noticed in nature.

This hands-on experience provided an opportunity for the children to connect with nature through art and exploration. They were encouraged to make their own choices, experiment with different techniques, and express their creativity in their own unique ways. The activity supported learning through play while celebrating the beauty of the fall season and encouraging curiosity about the natural world.
